The Road to 2027 Begins on the Chisago Lakes Chain

The road to the 2027 Classic Bass Champions Tour, Presented by Skeeter and Yamaha, begins on Lake Chisago.

Forty-five boats will take to the Northern Twin Cities Metro lake for the first of two Champions Tour Qualifiers, this one presented by Northland Fishing Tackle and Humminbird. The event is the opening round of a two-event race, with the top seven anglers in the combined standings from Chisago and the Horseshoe Chain earning a spot in the 2027 Champions Tour field.

Located just north of the Twin Cities, Lake Chisago is a 944-acre fishery that reaches depths of roughly 34 feet and offers a diverse mix of vegetation, shallow cover, structure and deeper water. The lake is part of the interconnected Chisago Lakes system and supports a variety of species, including largemouth bass, northern pike, walleye, crappies and bluegills. Anglers will be able to fish all throughout the system, where they can safely navigate their boats.

That diversity should give anglers plenty of options, but in a qualifier, finding the right combination of areas and quality fish will be critical, especially on a smaller venue. With only seven spots available for the 2027 Champions Tour, every fish will carry significant weight in the final standings.

The 45-boat field will fish from 8:00am to 3:00pm, giving anglers seven hours to put together their best possible bag on the Reel LiveWell App in the Every Fish Counts format.

The event will be headquartered at Paradise Park, where the awards ceremony will begin at 4:00pm.

The road to 2027 starts on the Chisago Lakes Chain. Here is the field of 45 anglers that will be trying to qualify.
