Second annual event featuring Wild players, coaches and alumni raises money for the Minnesota Wild Foundation
ST. PAUL — The National Hockey League’s Minnesota Wild and Ron Schara Productions jointly announced today that the second annual Wild on the Water Bass Fishing Tournament presented by Alumacraft will be held July 13-14 at Izatys Resort on Mille Lacs Lake.
The Wild on the Water Bass Fishing Tournament will take place on Saturday, July 14 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and feature four teams:
- Zach Parise and Travis Frank will captain the Minnesota Wild Player Team. Luke Kunin, Gustav Olofsson, Nick Seeler, Jason Zucker and new Assistant General Manager Tom Kurvers will also fish on this team.
- Bruce Boudreau and Ron Schara will captain the Minnesota Wild Coaches Team. Assistants Dean Evason, Darby Hendrickson, Bob Mason, Bob Woods and General Manager Paul Fenton will also fish on this team.
- Keith Ballard and Bill Sherck will captain the Minnesota Wild Alumni Team. Andrew Brunette, Ryan Carter, Antti Laaksonen, Jordan Leopold and Richard Park and one other Wild alum will also fish on this team.
- New Wild forward Matt Hendricks, Laura Schara and Ryan Johnson will captain the NHL Player Team. Buffalo Sabres defenseman Zach Bogosian, Washington Capitals forward Shane Gersich, former Wild forward/NHL forward Mark Parrish, Former North Stars/NHL forward Jack Carlson and former NHL forward Paul Broten will also fish on this team.
Each boat will include a celebrity, a fishing guide and a paid participant. All fishing tournament participants are required to have a valid Minnesota fishing license. Fishing celebrities are subject to change.
The registration fee to participate in the tournament is $3,000 to fish on one of the four captain’s boats and $1,500 to fish on one of the remaining 20 boats. The registration fee includes four hours of fishing on July 14, a gift package featuring fishing gear and Wild apparel and four tickets to a VIP event that will take place at Izatys Resort on Friday, July 13. A VIP event will also be held on July 13 from 8 to 10 p.m. at Izatys Resort. The event will include a cocktail hour, heavy appetizers, a silent and live auction, and the opportunity to meet all the celebrities and outdoor personalities participating in the fishing tournament. A limited number of tickets are available for purchase to Friday night’s VIP event for $150 at wild.com/WildOnTheWater.
Fans can also attend the free Bash on the Beach event on July 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Izatys Resort. This fun, outdoor event will feature an opportunity to get autographs and participate in interactive games with celebrities, and watch the fishing tournament final weigh-in. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase.
The Minnesota Wild Foundation exists to support the game of hockey and improve the lives of families in the State of Hockey.
