NorthStar Tournament Trail Offering Anglers a Weekend Full of Tournaments

Two Anglers Qualify for Champions Tour Open

Steve Soukup is no stranger to the Minnesota bass tournament scene, so it was no surprise when Steve, partnered with Lee Erickson and Bob Spreigl to create the NorthStar Tournament Trail.  “We take pride in making our events be fun, inexpensive and flexible around angler’s schedules,” stated Steve.

2017 marked the third season for the NorthStar Tournament Trail and continually their event schedule is filled with popular Minnesota tournament venues that regularly put out impressive tournament limits.  When examining their schedule, one will notice that lakes that boast healthy populations of smallmouth are a common theme, “we like to have about half of our tournaments on smallmouth lakes, or at least lakes that there is a possibility of catching big smallies,” said Lee.

So far through this season, the circuit has visited the Whitefish Chain, Woman Lake, Lake Minnewaska and Green Lake (Spicer).  The winning anglers for these events not only bested the other competing teams with their five bass limit, but Mother Nature as the wind has been a prevalent factor at each event this season.
