Classic Bass Champions Tour Selects 2017 Championship Location

Zimmerman, MN – Classic Bass (ClassicBass.com), a leader in providing bass tournament angler’s informative, current information, and presenter of the Champions Tour is pleased to announce that the site for the 2017 Championship has been selected.

The 24 anglers, who have qualified for the Classic Bass Champions Tour Championship brought to you by Skeeter Boats and Yamaha Outboards, will be setting their sights on Lake Pokegama in Grand Rapids, MN, on Friday, September 1st. Pokegama is 6,612 acres in size and is approximately 112 feet deep at its deepest point. The lake has a great diversity of structure from shallow, sloppy bays to deep mid-lake structure. Pokegama is an excellent fishery for both smallmouth and largemouth bass.

“We couldn’t be more excited that the Classic Bass Champions Tour chose Grand Rapids and Lake Pokegama for the site of their first ever Championship,” said Megan Christianson, Director of Visit Grand Rapids.  “We are eager to have the Champions Tour anglers experience Grand Rapids!”

Pokegama should put on an excellent show as we predict weights to push the 100-pound mark yet again. At the end of the day, one talented Champions Tour Angler will be pulling home a beautiful new Skeeter Boat and bragging rights as the first champion of the Classic Bass Champions Tour.

After the four regular season Classic Bass Champions Tour events on Lake Mille Lacs, Lake Minnewaska, Gull Lake and the Whitefish Chain, 24 anglers rose to the top from one of the most talented tournament fields in the Midwest. The anglers will now have a chance to fish for a Skeeter Boat, Trailer and Yamaha on the waters of Lake Pokegama.
