2019 Champions Tour Adapts and Expands into Made for Media, Multi-Species Events

Bass, Walleye and Youth Angler Involvement Will All be Included in these Exciting Media Events

“With the over whelming response from our bass anglers and the feedback from the Champions Tour sponsors, we decided to change the game yet again and create a very unique and exciting tournament opportunity for bass and walleye anglers combined,” stated Scott Bonnema, Champions Tour Owner.

The Champions Tour Series consists of four qualifier stops, each featuring three days of events. The first day is focused on sponsor media content capture, local press and community interaction. Day two will be the popular Champions Tour Bass Qualifier, which will feature the same format that is has had the previous two seasons.  This year it will feature an expanded field of 50 top bass anglers and influencers in the Midwest. The final day will feature a unique and premier, made for media tournament where top bass and walleye pros, along with high school anglers will compete together across multiple species for large payouts and prizes.

“The 24 anglers that will be competing in these events will not only be in for an extremely exciting, fun and unique event, but they will be in the position to leverage the power of the Champions Tour media footprint to highlight their personal brand, sponsors and most importantly further the growth of the sport of fishing,” said Bonnema.

For the 2019 Champions Tour season, anglers from the Minnesota High School Fishing League will serve as the boat officials for all of the Champions Tour events, and for the second day event 24 of these boat officials will be participants on teams with the region’s best anglers and exciting format.
