Former Champions Tour winner, Kyle Schutta, will be returning to compete this season, following a year fishing the Tackle Warehouse Pro Circuit. “Being that I am not fishing the Major League Fishing Invitationals this year, I have the time and no conflicting tournaments, and I couldn’t be more excited to be back fishing the Champions Tour in 2024,” said Schutta.
Schutta, who won a Tour event on Lake Vermilion, is looking forward to the high level of competition that the Champions Tour brings. “I have always been a consistent fisherman, but for the 2024 season I am going to give it 100% to try and lock up the Angler of the Year title.”
This is on Kyle’s mind heavily, as he has been leading the points race going into the final tournament, but the Angler of the Year award eluded him, not once, but twice.
Over the course of the four years fishing the Champions Tour, Kyle has seven top-ten finishes, has won just shy of $30,000, and qualified for the Championship three times. “Over this offseason there will not be a single day that I don’t think about what lake the Championship will be on, where we will get to fish for a brand-new Skeeter boat!”
Also returning to the Champions Tour in 2024 is two-time champion, Brad Leuthner. This will be Brad’s seventh year fishing the Champions Tour and over his previous six seasons, he has nine top-ten finishes, and qualified for the Championship five times and earned over $34,000.
“What brought me back to Champions Tour is the great competition and that it is a extremely well run tournament circuit.”
As Brad is looking ahead to this season, he said he is “looking forward to seeing a lot of old friends and meeting the rising stars of the Midwest, and is really looking forward to the event in Iowa, there should be some huge bass and great numbers caught!”
