Two new anglers that we want to welcome to the 2020 Champions Tour…
This makes a total of 12 new face that you will be seeing make their Champions Tour debut at Lake Vermilion on July 31st.
Kyle Schutta –
Kyle does not come into the 2020 Champions Tour season as a full-on rookie, he competed in the Champions Tour Open event on Gull Lake in 2018, where he finished 28th out of 62 boats. Schutta has competed around the US via the Bassmaster Opens and FLW Toyota Series, and when he is not busy running Breeze Heating and Cooling, he competes in local events.
“I’m looking forward to the 2020 Tour, with its high payouts and the chance to qualify for the Championship to win a Skeeter Boat is pretty amazing,” said Kyle. “I am also looking forward to the Every Fish Counts style of fishing and the added excitement it brings.”
Steve Sandberg –
With a win at the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship in 2015, Sandberg has been a familiar face in Minnesota on the bass tournament scene throughout the early and mid-2000’s.
“I am looking forward to fishing a circuit again and going to different venues,” said Steve. “It has been many years since I have been able to do so. I really like that it will be the same field of anglers competing in all the events and on very different fisheries for this season.”
David Sicheneder –
Sicheneder did not start tournament bass fishing until the age of 16 and has been more of a multi-species angler than anything. Coming out of high school he was able to win a truck in a former Minnesota circuit as a co-angler and then win a boat when in college at Saint Cloud State from the same circuit.
Currently David has won and finished in the top six numerous times in the Frankie’s Marine Two-Day tournament and took 2nd place in the International Falls Bass Championship. “I signed up and wanted to fish the Champions Tour to support a good circuit in my home state,” said David. “With there being so few good angling opportunities in Minnesota I’ve decided to come out and support one.”
